Keys generated on your device
A 12-word mnemonic acted as a backup and derived keys for supported blockchains. Jaxx said these keys were not stored on its servers.
Optional layers of protection
Transaction PIN, two-factor authentication, and encryption options were available. The wallet itself did not have password protection.
Known local-storage concerns
Jaxx Liberty had reported vulnerabilities, including concerns around how seed phrases were stored locally. It should not be considered secure software today.

Fake Jaxx apps and websites have targeted former users. Entering your phrase into a fraudulent service can give someone control of your funds. No legitimate support team will ask for your seed phrase.

Find a wallet through its official website or trusted app store listing. Confirm it supports the networks and assets you need.
Import with care
A BIP-39 compatible wallet may restore addresses from your phrase. Only enter it directly in verified wallet software you control.
Create fresh wallets
After recovering access, create new wallets with fresh seed phrases and move funds to the new addresses for better protection.
